Last week, I got an email from Susan in Australia, asking me if I wanted to join her for yoga when I am in Sydney next month. Her studio has an introductory offer for beginners: $20 for unlimited classes within a ten day period. Sue said she goes five times a week and that the studio is only a two-minute walk from her place.
I hadn't worked out in six days and have been busy stuffing my face with turkey, Christmas ham and anything and everything designed to induce diabetes. The last thing on my mind was yoga.
At the most, I was hoping to continue swimming everyday in Australia.
Yoga? Really? Eurgh. Er... Sure, why not?
So, yesterday, I forced myself back to barre3. My first choice would have been Bikram, to prepare for the yoga in Sydney, but there's no studio near the hotel where we are staying. Well, I'm sure there is one if I could be bothered to suss it out, but I already know where the barre3 studio is and it's conveniently located at a mall nearby. And when Nicolas returns to Cebu on the 2nd, I can continue doing barre3 at the studio near my parents' place.
Faaaaaark. I had forgotten how hard it is. My legs were shaking uncontrollably. But I thought I kept up pretty well, considering I hadn't done this since - what - April, last year? The pain today, while evenly distributed throughout my body, is really just a dull ache. Nothing too sharp as to impair motion. Will go again tonight and, hopefully, tomorrow morning. Will try to work in as many sessions before I leave for Oz on January 13.
