Siargao will be hosting three surf comps this September.
Opening the festivities is the National Comp. (17th to the 20th of Sept). The best surfers from around the country will be on hand at Cloud 9 for this one.
Hot on its heels is the Billabong Pro Junior (21st to 28th of Sept). Some of the best junior surfers from around the world (- must be only 20 years old as of the 31st of Dec.) will head to Cloud 9 for this 5-star ASP-rated junior event. Surfers from Australia, Japan, USA, Indonesia, Tahiti, New Zealand and the Philippines are looking for a share of the US$25,000 prize money.
Taking off immediately after is the 17th Annual Cloud 9 Cup (29th Sept. to 3rd Oct). Again, a truly international field, including 12 qualifiers from the Philippine national event, will vie for the US$10,000 on offer. Previous winners include some of the more famous free surfers on the planet, including Ryan Hipwood, Mark Matthews and Wade Goodall to name a few.
The last Billabong event on the island was the Billabong Invitational in 2009.
