How charming.
Of course, vodka doesn't cure the common cold. But it sure does work wonders for muscle pain. I hobbled into the bar like a cripple on stiff legs in five-inch heels and ended up dragging everyone to the dance floor, bouncing up and down and off the walls.
Nicolas took a sip of my drink and gagged. "That's pure poison!" I must have hooked up with the only French man who doesn't drink. "No, it's not. It's got ice in it." Sometimes, I wonder why he is still surprised that his girlfriend is a lunatic. I thought I made that clear from the start. Did he think I was kidding?
Of course I was also sneaking drags off cigarettes behind his back. Doh! Just when I thought I had finally kicked the habit. I was so proud that I didn't smoke a single cigarette in France. And now my throat is absolutely destroyed. Again. <cough cough> Ugh.
So I guess I missed my first Plana Forma class too. (It's 3 PM and I haven't gotten up.) Yeah, I have no idea what that is either but I got a gift certificate for five classes so I thought I'd check it out this morning while the box is closed for the holidays. But, nope, I guess there will be no more exercising in 2011.
2011 wasn't such a bad year. It was actually quite fun, really.
In spite of the freakin' braces.
That was my one stupid mistake. If I were smarter, I would have waited till the end of the Mayan calendar to have them done. Not that I believe in any of that but my belief or non-belief has absolutely no bearing on whether something is true or not and, in the off chance that the Mayans were onto something and the world goes all cataclysmic next year, then I would have spent my last year on earth with a mouth full of metal, looking completely like shit. How fabulously retarded is that?!
Phooey.
I'm just hoping these damned things come off already in March, or I'm taking a pair of pliers to them myself.
Ew. Let's hope it doesn't come to that...
Anyway, tonight's going to be a fun night again. I'm looking forward to ending this year and starting the new one right. With good food, strong drinks and the people I love. To the ones who aren't here in Manila, I'll be thinking of you and missing you. You know who you are and you know that I love you.
Yup, that sounds about right.
Here's to 2012! Wherever you are, keep dancing!
